The Plain Dealer Business Section Sunday, January 31, 1999 Making the sale By Marcia Pledger Plain Dealer Reporter GOOD MARKETING Sid Good, president of Good Marketing in Cleveland, will speak at the 1999 Toy Fair next month in New York City. Good, who’ll also lead a panel sponsored by the American Specialty Toy Retailing Association, will focus on marketing to children in his talk to specialty toy manufacturers and retailers Feb. 13. Good plans to emphasize how current trends in technology will continue to impact the industry. “Most importantly, I’m going to be talking about how important it is for adults and kids to have fun while shopping, and for sales staff to have fun while working in order to grow the business.” Good runs a Cleveland consulting firm that specializes in marketing to children. The company develops products such as plush and plastic collectible “Clifford the big Red Dog” figures and World Wrestling Federation junior sports equipment. Good, 42, started the company after leaving his job as marketing director of Hasbro in Pawtucket, R.I. The toy marketer also has served as a consultant for several companies including R.J.R. Nabisco and Polaroid Corp., as well as Creativity for Kids and Trophy Music, both in Cleveland.
